My only concern is that one of them will end up dead before the episode is over…upon which I will automatically lose 50% of my interest in this show.
Guess what happens to my level of interest if they both die?

Oh God, look at the pair of them. So much freaking communication happening here because, omg they WANT to talk, to reach out and touch just for some physical reassurance that this is REAL and HAPPENING, but the immediacy of the danger they’re in supersedes everything else. Guh.

The Governor gets his revenge on Merle (“terrorists?” Really?), two brothers we’ve never seen together onscreen (other than in a fever dream) finally meet face-to-face, and Andrea’s suspicion that she’s been boning a manipulative psycho is solidified. This show may pull punches in some scenes, but sometimes it freaking DELIVERS.
February is a LONG way off.

Whats ONE thing you really need to see happen before the end of this season of The Walking Dead?
I’d typically say more Carol & Daryl…but I’m already pretty satisfied with what this season has already given me on that front.
I’m gonna need more Merle. Please God, more Merle forever.

SPOILER for TWD episode 308: @einfach_mich @chele681 @theswandive Look at Rick’s face in frame 4. Daryl just told him he’s choosing his brother over them, and now he’s laying down his life for them. Right then, it sinks in deeper than it ever has.
Y’see, I loved how ambiguous it was with Daryl’s being “left behind.” Was it purposeful? Wasn’t it? Was the lure of Merle enough to outweigh Daryl’s promise to Rick - if not overtly, than subconsciously? Just enough to make him hang back a little more, telling himself it was a necessary measure for the others to escape?
And yes, Rick knows it. Rick knows Daryl better than Daryl knows himself in this case, I think.

I wanted to up the sibling ante a little bit and give Merle this look that said, “Big brother, save me” as much as possible.

saintsandrocksalt requested a sketch of ”Daryl and Merle just being brothers.” So here’s what I came up with.

This is a cleverly-crafted gif set, but I disagree strongly with what it implies about the natures of these brothers. While it may be easy to paint Merle as a bringer of death and Daryl as an unlikely angel of mercy, I feel this is a gross oversimplification of much deeper characters.
The Dixon brothers are both so complex and interesting. I sometimes wish that more of the fandom would be willing to explore the possibilities of their character development beyond the broad brushstrokes that the show’s writers have provided.

This just brings on so many FEELINGS for these brothers. Gorgeous sketch.
For Muudepara, who requested a sketch of “Daryl and Merle as kids. Happy for once.” Hope this is a bit like what you had in mind!

This split painting just emphasizes that the casting of the Dixon brothers is ridiculously brilliant.

She liked her wine and she liked to smoke in bed. Virginia slims. I was playing out with kids in the neighborhood. I could do that with Merle gone. They had bikes. I didn’t. We heard sirens getting louder. They all jumped on their bikes, hoping to see something. I ran after them, but I couldn’t keep up. Ran around the corner and saw my friends looking at me. I saw everybody looking at me. Firetrucks everywhere, people from the neighborhood. It was my house they were there for. That was my mom in bed. Burnt down to nothing- that was the hard part. Yeah, she’s just gone. Erased, nothing left of her. People said it was better that way. I don’t know. Made it seem like it wasn’t real, you know?
